Diabetic NYC Ballerina says goodbye to muscle pain and hello to sleeping well

As a soloist with the New York City Ballet and a person living with Type I Diabetes, I was constantly juggling the demands of being an artist and star athlete while walking the tightrope of taking insulin.

I was in constant muscle distress and plagued by insomnia. Alkalizing my body dramatically changed all of that. As a dancer, I no longer had the extreme muscle pain I once did, not to mention the benefits alkalizing has had on my diabetes. Stable blood sugars are a tremendous gift as they affect everything from physical to emotional wellness.

What I’m most excited about though is the affect it’s had on my ability to sleep well, something I really never thought I would experience.

Today I am a ballet teacher, staging George Balanchine ballets around the world, as well as a motivational speaker for the diabetes movement and author of my own book.
